Our recommendations

Our favourite restaurants (less than 5 minutes from the Hotel):

The Polidor - 41 rue Monsieur le Prince
Restaurant created in the 19 th century with a Parisian bar style decor and atmosphere (with checked tablecloths). The food is good and very reasonably priced (allow €20 or more). The clientele is very varied which adds to its charm.

La Ferrandaise - 8 rue de Vaugirard
One of the best bars in Paris: regional cuisine (Auvergne) of outstanding quality. It is not very cheap (allow €40 or more) but it is well worth it!

Le Balzar - 49 rue des Ecoles
A traditional brasserie and a typically Parisian address on the Left Bank for all those who are looking for good, simple food for lunch, dinner or supper... Often, you will be able to meet teachers from the Collège de France professors from the University of the Sorbonne, philosophers, politicians and actors... (€30 to €40)

Le Pré Verre - 19 rue du Sommerard (at the corner of "rue Thénard")
A quality restaurant (excellent value for money) managed by the Delacourcelle brothers who have developed simple and reasonably priced menus, accompanied by some well chosen wines. The dishes are unusual and offer you the opportunity to discover new, spicy and aromatic flavours. Try the €12 menu at lunchtime. Great quality for such a low price... unique!

Le Watt - 3 rue de Cluny
Recently opened by a young restaurant owner who wanted to create something original... and he has done just that! In the afternoon or in the evening, the atmosphere is young and trendy, with many elegant women. A large choice with an original and reasonably priced menu for around €20 per person.   Look out for the French-style Tapas selection.

KARL - 22, rue du Sommerard (at the corner of Square Paul Painlevé)
A recent creation (end of 2006) with an amusing and young decor...and an attractive menu...the restaurant is run by Mickey who spent many years working at "Le Watt"... (allow about €25 per person)
